What is the difference between Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge?

Forge is the oldest large-scale mod loader. Fabric is a lighter, more modern alternative. NeoForge is a 2023 fork of Forge. They are not directly compatible — a mod built for Fabric will not run on Forge. Check each mod page for its loader.

Do mods work with the latest Minecraft version?

Mods are built for a specific Minecraft version (e.g. 1.21.4) and a specific loader version. They typically take 2–8 weeks to update after a new Minecraft release. Each mod page lists exactly which versions it supports.

Can I use mods on Bedrock Edition?

No — Bedrock has Add-Ons (a sandboxed scripting system) but does not support Java-style mods. The mods on this site are Java Edition only.
