An Origin for my personal aquatic species.
Gameplay with this origin is probably pretty nonstandard, and still being balanced and tweaked. If Merling is Impact 3, this could possibly considered an impact 3.5 or 4. I designed more for fun than anything else, so it's not exactly the most capable of Origins.
Note: This origin uses a slightly customized blur shader. A bug often results in the screen going black while this shader is active. If you experience this, disable the Vignette effect. If you're not using Sodium, you may have to switch to Fast Graphics to do so.
In addition to the listed abilities, this mod depends on Lunar Origins Core, which includes various utility items such as glass bowl helmets, goggles, and gummies. It's highly recommended you take advantage of these items to make land traversal more comfortable.
Custom CPM models are provided with the main download. You should be able to use them by placing them in the player_models folder of your Minecraft instance (with Customizable Player Models installed.)
- 🟢 Aqua Affinity: Break Blocks at full speed underwater
- 🟢 Aquatic Miner: Broken blocks are filled with water, not air, as long your head is submerged in water.
- 🟢 Fins: Increased underwater speed.
- 🟢 Like Water: You don't sink in water.
- 🟢 Dolphin Kick: Active ability [Secondary] (While in water) - Thanks to you tail and large flippers, you can gain a huge speed boost in the direction you're swimming. Can also be used to leap out of the water.
- 🟢 Waterspout: Active Ability [Secondary] (While out of the water) - An old magic spell that lets you launch yourself upwards with a blast of water. This ability consumes one aqua gummy from your inventory.
- 🟢 Extinguish: Eating an Aqua Gummy will instantly extinguish fire from yourself.
- 🟢 Wet Goggles: Can refill the goggles you're wearing by eating a glimmering gummy.
- 🟢 Air Swimming: Only can be activated near a conduit. Eating a glimmering gummy gives you a minute of air swimming and slow fall.
- 🟡 Short: You're a little bit shorter than a human.
- 🟢🔴 Aquatic Lungs: You can breathe perfectly underwater, however you will start to lose breath when breathing air. The lower your breath meter, the more debuffs you'll experience. Breath loss rate varies by biome and environment.
- 🟢🔴 Water Focus: Your eyes are adapted for focusing underwater. This gives you improved vision underwater (Night vision underwater, toggle with [Primary Power], however, on land your vision will be severely blurred.
- 🔴 Waddler: Your huge flipper feet make you slow and clumsy on land.
- 🔴 Flipper Feet: You can't wear normal foot gear because of the shape of your feet.
